Free speech and the character of a people

med 2 kommentarer

“The best argument for free speech,” Nock wrote, “is what the suppression of it does to the character of a people”.

– from Brian Doherty’s Radicals For Capitalism, p. 57. The book is recommended by the way, as an interesting “shadow” history of American 20th century thought.

The Nock in question is of course Albert Jay Nock.
